Funeral rites for Elizabeth Wilson Terry of Dallas were held in the Presbyterian Church in Spur on Jan. 10, 1956. The Rev. Dean Moore of Dallas was assisted by Rev. J.C. Willettt as he conducted the service.
Pallbearers were Joe Long, Coy McMahan, Carter Robinson, Johnny Koonsman, Elmer Maben and Olney Walker. Honorary pallbearers were Dick Samson, Cecil Fox, A.F. Dansils, Bernie Goldburg, Bill McArthur and Bud Morrison.
Elizabeth was born in the Espuela Community near Spur on March 27, 1901 and died Jan. 8, 1956. She was wed to Harley Terry in 1926 in Spur. She lived in Spur all her life until moving to Dallas in 1942. Following the teaching profession, she taught in Floydada, Spur and Dumont for a total of 17 years.
She was converted early in life and became a Member of the Episcopalian Church.
Surviving Mrs. Terry are two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Yeager and Mrs. Mary Lou Dudley of Dallas; one brother, Bill Elliott of Crystal City; three sisters, Miss Margaret Elliott and Virginia Williams of Spur, and Mrs. Audrey Hensley of Guthrie; and two grandchildren.
Interment was in the Spur Cemetery under the direction of Chandler's Funeral Home.
