Services for Gertie M. Taylor, 81, Spur, will be held at 2 p.m. December 1, in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Bruce Parks, church pastor, officiating.

Mrs. Taylor died about 12:10 a.m. November 29, in Methodist Hospital, Lubbock, following a lengthy illness. Born in Futon, Mississippi, she had been a resident of Dickens County since 1946, moving here from Big Spring.

A homemaker, she married J.H.Taylor in Snyder on March 20, 1933. She attended Baylor Belton and Texas Tech. She taught school at Ralls for several years.

She was a member of the Methodist Church, on the board of directors of the Dickens County Library and the Methodist Women's Guild.

Survivors include her husband, J.H. Taylor, Spur; three brothers, C.C. Miller, Austin; V.G. and T.G. Miller, both of Ralls; one sister, Corine Miller, Ralls.

Burial will be in Spur Memorial Cemetery under direction of Campbell Funeral Home.
