U.S.Flag Graveside services were held Monday at 2 p.m. in Spur Memorial Cemetery for Charley Paul Harris, 68, of Spur.

Ernie Bishop, minister of the Highway 70 church of Christ, officiated. Campbell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Harris died in a fire at his home northwest of Spur on November 19, 1994, Bonnie Edwards, Justice of the Peace in Precinct 3, investigated. Death was due to smoke inhalation.

He was born in Dickens county April 9, 1926 and had lived here all of his life. He was a farmer and was employed by High Plains Cotton Growers for many years. Harris was an army veteran of W.W.II and a member of Spur VFW Post 7212.

Survivors include a son, Danny Harris of Rochester; one daughter, Tammy Adkins, Rochester; two brothers, Ernon Harris,Spur and Bud Harris, Roswell, NM; a sister, Opal McCormick, Spur and three grandchildren.
