MARK ALVIN EDGAR DIES IN VETERAN´S HOSPITAL IN N.M.

Funeral Services Held in Spur

U.S.Flag  Mark Alvin Edgar, son of Mr. and Mrs. Will Edgar, who served four years in the army before being discharged in June of this year, died November 29 in Veteran´s Hospital in Albuquerque, NM of pulmonary tuberculosis.

The deceased had been suffering with the disease which caused his death when sent home from overseas. He wore the Asiatic-Pacific, Good Conduct, American Defense with two bronze star. Ribbons and two overseas chevrons. He was given a medical discharge from the service and entered the Albuquerque Veteran´s Hospital.

Reverend Van Zandt conducted funeral services for Mark Alvin at the Methodist Church Sunday at 3:00 p.m. Pallbearers were Ed Slough, Paul Stanford, Rupert Stanford, Alvis Bilberry, Olan Powell and O. H. Thompson. Flower girls were Edith Stanford and Mattie Beth Stanford.

Mark Alvin Edgar is survived by his father and mother and four sisters: Mrs. L. J. Varnell of Afton; Mrs. O.V. Crafton of Spur; Mrs. C.C. Farrer of Modesta, CA; and Mrs. O. H. Thompson of Lubbock; and one brother, Grady Edgar of Vallejo, CA.

Chandler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
