Reburial Rites To Be Conducted For Pfc Jack Sparkman

U.S.Flag  Reburial rites for Pfc. Jack W. Sparkman, 22, will be held Sunday afternoon, November 7, at 3 p.m. at the McAdoo High School Auditorium, with Rev. Lee Hemphill of Littlefield officiating.

Pfc. Sparkman was killed in action on Luzon, P.I., on February 27, 1945.

The remains will arrive in Lubbock Friday morning and will be carried overland to McAdoo for the services. The Allen Brothers Post No. 148, Lubbock, American Legion, will be in charge of the graveside services.

Interment will be in the McAdoo Cemetery.

Pfc. Sparkman was the son of Bertha Sparkman of Littlefield, former residents of McAdoo. He was a graduate of the 1941 Class of the McAdoo High School.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Bertha Sparkman, and two sisters, Mrs. L.B. Huckaby of Littlefield and Mrs. Winston Wofford of Lubbock.

Pallbearers will be former classmates. They are: Clint Formby, Ed Eldridge and Lawrence Tipkin of Lubbock; M.V. Cypert, Morton, and Raymond Harris and Howell Brantley of McAdoo.
