Funeral services for John Avery Coursey, 64, were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Rev. Norris Taylor, pastor, officiated.

A retired farmer, Mr. Coursey died in San Angelo, October 31. He resided in Dickens County from 1940 to 1962. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include a step-son, Glenn Martin, Spur; five daughters, Mrs. Clovis Whitefield, Spur; Mrs. Linda Lambert and Mrs. Bobbye Leatherwood, both of Crosbyton; Yvonne York, Kemp and Dorothy Murphy, Ben Wheeler; 12 grandchildren and 2 greats; two brothers, Mr. Leon Coursey, Dallas; Mr. Lloyd Coursey, Wilmer; and one sister, Mrs. Earline McCarty, Dallas.

Pallbearers included Jack Condron, Lee Kidd, Joe Kidd, Jim Whitefield, Toby Collett and Rock Ashcraft. Burial was in Espuela Cemetery.
