Morris Collett Sr. U.S.Flag   Memorial services will be held for Morris Hamilton Collett, 84, at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 5, at First United Methodist Church in Spur with Reverend Larry Burton officiating. Visitation will follow the service in the fellowship hall.

Mr. Collett died Sunday, June 29, in the Mineral Wells Care Center.

He was born March 31, 1913, in Post. He grew up in Spur and graduated from Spur High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and served in an armored division in Europe. He managed restaurants and cafeterias in the Fort Worth and Dallas area before retiring 20 years ago.

Survivors include a daughter, Colette Lauderdale of Lubbock; a son, Morris Collett, Jr., of Strawn; one sister, Nell Luker of Mesquite; six grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren; and one niece and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James H. "Hamp" Collett of Bell Ranch, Tucumcari, New Mexico, Gay Nell Collett of Oak Cliff in Dallas, and two sisters, Estelle Thomason of Dallas and Edna Smith of Clovis, New Mexico.
