According to researcher, Roxann Bowen, " Rudolph and Ema Jaeger immigrated to DeWitt County, Texas in 1896 on the ship Allemania. They left Hamburg ( coming from Ziesar near Berlin) on 17 dec. 1895. They arrived in Galveston, Texas on 8 Jan. 1896. They traveled with 2 children from Ema's previous marriage, william and Otto. Otto died at 15 years. William took the Jaeger name. Also with them was Rozann's great grandmother, Annie and Paul.. Annie was born June 1893 and Paul was born 16 Oct. 1896. After coming to Texas and settling in Yorktown, they had 5 more children: Herman, Emil, Ida, Rudolph, and Otto.
