LOCAL NOTES:

Misses Josephine and Moselle WELCH invited forty five friends to help them celebrate their birthdays. Its was Josephine’s eleventh and Moselle’s fourth birthday.

It is rumored that Yoakum is soon to have a hospital. The sooner the better.

Mr. and Mrs. ROHAN returned this afternoon from a visit to Houston.

Miss Lula WEYMANN will leave tonight for a visit to Houston relatives and friends and the same time take in the carnival.

W.J. SIMPSON gave the writer a lemon that was rasied on Mr. W.C. STEINMANN’s place, about four miles below town, that weighed two pounds and measured 15 inches in circumference.

DEATHS:

 

Dr. Ben F. WILLIS died Sunday afternoon at the home of his son, Mr. George P. WILLIS at Hochheim. He was born in 1815, and settled at Concrete in 1882.
