A deal has been closed up by which Mr. H.P. Witte sells the Globe Store on Gonzales Street to Mr. P.E. Edgar of Ter­ryville. The actual change will not take place until April 1. Mr. Witte demanding that much time in which to close up his affairs. The store building remains the property of Mr. Witte and Mr. Edgar will oc­cupy it. Mr. Edgar has been engaged in business at Ter­ryville for a dozen years and is thoroughly familiar with the business. Mr. Witte has not matured plans for the future. He is selling out in order to get a rest. He has been doing a good business.

Gene Faires, well known in Yoakum in the olden days, but for a number of years a resi­dent of Houston, has returned to the city and will likely locate here.

A.V. Dullye has contracted with Ross & Shall for the erec­tion of two buildings - a six room resident for himself in the Y and a rent cottage on his vacant lot near the passenger depot.

Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Grobe will move tomorrow from their present quarters on Gonzales street to their new home on Edgar Street known as the ­Myatt place. Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Wa1lace have moved from the Myatt place into the T.M. North place.

W.A. Dennerline has sold his confectionery, corner Grand Avenue and Lott, to Rufus A. Boylan, of Port Arthur. Mr. Boylan has already assumed charge.

    Engineer H.C. Mylius ar­rived in the city last night from visit West. He was accompa­nied by his sister, Mrs. J.A. Williams.

   The DeWitt County Com­missioners Court reported the following salaries: County Judge-$l,l00, Sheriff-$400; District Clerk-$400; County Clerk-$425.

Mr. J.R. Boon, of Hope, sold t his farm interest to Mr. R.A. Russell last week.

At the home of the bride's mother, Jrs. H. Gieger, on South Street near the freight depot on Sunday evening Mr. E.P. Gillam and Mrs. Emma Wolsdorff were united in mar­riage. She held a position with Haller Dry Goods Store.

Mr. Will L. Crawford of Hochheim and Miss Ettie Miller of Houston were mar­ried Wednesday.

Mrs. George Aquyres died at her home in Hebron. She leaves a husband and six chil­dren.
