CO-CHO TEICHAS CHAPTER GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS

Chartered June 14, 1991

Co-Cho Teichas is an Indian name, meaning buffalo eaters.  This tribe originated about 900 A.D. in Che-Ida-ho.  They left this area and came into the present southeast Colorado , Kansas , New Mexico , and Oklahoma .  They over-ran the country and drove out the Apaches and other tribes of Indians.  Eventually, they migrated into the Cross Timbers area of Texas .  It was only fitting that our children’s CRT chapter should be named for the Indians that roamed in the Cross Timbers of Texas.
