Cross Timbers was the name selected by our chapter members.  Cross Timbers being the name of the geographical area of Texas which was most important in the settlement, growth, and development of the state.  Grand Prairie is located in the alternating woodlands and broad grassy prairie of North Texas .  As you drive thru our city, you will find gentle rolling hills, wooded areas, and meadows of prairie grasses.  Like the land on which we live, the membership of this chapter is greatly diverse, including teachers, homemakers, retirees, clerical, business and professional women.  We feel the name Cross Timbers suits us well.
