Graveside services for Allie Dell Zimmerman, 86, of Lubbock will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2004, in the Ralls Cemetery. Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
She was born Oct. 11, 1917, to Thomas and Dora Branch Richmond, the youngest of 11 children. She grew up in East Texas and graduated from Overton High School in 1937. She moved to California in 1940 and married Floyd Bess. He died in 1974. She married Bill Zimmerman in 1977 and he died in 1982. She retired from General Dynamics in 1982 and returned to Texas in 1983. She lived in Richardson and Henderson before moving to Lubbock in 2001, where she resided at Grand Court. She passed away May 21, 2004, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
She is survived by five nieces, Annette Hallman of Lubbock, Joyce Rightsell of Garland, Sue Daniels of Hideaway Lake, Bobbie Forsythe of Henderson and Catherine Stamps of Wichita Falls; and four nephews, Bruce Richmond of Henderson, Lewis Williams o f Orange, Gerald Richmond of Austin and John Thomas Richmond of Granbury. She was kind, compassionate and always willing to help others. She had a delightful wit and wonderful sense of humor. She was everyone's favorite aunt and will be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews and friends at Grand Court.
