Abraham Yannis of Lubbock departed this life on May 17, 2008, at the age of 23 years. He was born on May 30, 1984, to Victor and Josie (Martinez) Yannis, in Floydada. Abraham attended Floydada High School. He moved from Floydada to Lubbock in 2002. Abraham worked with his father on a farm. Abraham enjoyed playing video games and watching movies.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Victor and Josie Yannis; four sisters, Melba Garza and Angela Ledja, both of Temple, Mary Lou Herrera of Floydada and Priscilla Solorzano of Dallas; six brothers, Victor Alderete, III and Mario Alderete, both of Taylor, Christopher Yannis of Floydada, Victor Yannis, Jr. of Lubbock, Isadore Yannis of Floydada, and Oscar Herrera of Plainview; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by Raymond and Mary Ann Yannis and Simona Salazar.
Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at White Memorial Chapel in Lubbock. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at White Memorial Chapel, with Deacon Alfredo Jaime officiating. Interment will follow at Ralls Cemetery in Ralls.
Arrangements are under the personal care of White Funeral Home of Lubbock.
