Obituary

LORENZO (Special) — Services for Henry S. Woods, 66, of Lorenzo will be at 11 a.m. today in the Carter-Adams Funeral Home in Ralls with Ralph Moore, minister of Lorenzo Church of Christ and Roy Shave, minister of the Emma Church of Christ in Ralls, officiating.

Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

Woods died at 5:20 p.m. Friday in Methodist Hospital in Lubbock after an illness.

He was born in Lamar County and moved to Lorenzo in 1941. He married Virginia Hunkapillar on July 8, 1939, in Foreman, Ark. He was a farmer.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Arnold of Ralls; two sisters, Elizabeth Melvin of California and Zona Morgan of Fort Worth; a brother, Buster P. of Fort Worth; and three grandchildren.

Virginia Woods photoVirginia W. Woods 94 of Childress passed away Wednesday October 2, 2014 in Childress Texas. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 5, at the Ralls Cemetery Chapel with Tim Mills officiating. Burial is under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Virginia was born on July 24, 1920 in Tom Oklahoma to Leon Hunkapillar and Winnie Weathers. She married Henry S. Woods in 1939 and they were married for 42 years. She loved to paint and she loved to study Bible literature. She attended the Church of Christ throughout her life.

Virginia is survived by a grandson, Steve Woods and wife Marcy of Reno Texas; a granddaughter, Teresa Reese and husband Robby of Childress Texas; seven great- grandchildren and 19 great- great grandchildren.
