Granny Wilson

Services for Eula Mae "Granny" Wilson, 78, of Floydada were held Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999 at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Church in Floydada with the Rev. Henry Russell, pastor, officiating.

Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home of Floydada.

Mrs. Wilson was born Dec. 31, 1920, in Cedar Hill Community of Floyd County to the late Mr. Joe Fortenberry and Mrs. Leola Dillard Fortenberry. She attended Cedar Hill schools and graduated from Floydada High School on 1939. She attended Draughon's Business College in Plainview for a year.

She married George Raymond "Chick" Wilson on July 28, 1967, in Ralls. He preceded her in death on Mar. 19, 1984. She moved to Ralls from Floydada in 1967, and she returned to Floydada in 1984. She retired from Piggly Wiggly in Floydada, where she worked in the meat department for 17 years. She was a member of Trinity Church in Floydada.

Survivors include a son, Joe Melvin Allard of Holly, Colo.; a brother, Eddie Fortenberry of Abernathy; three sisters, Pauline Van Hoose of Kingsland, Louise Guilliams of Carlsbad, N.M., and Marie Strickland of Amarillo; two grandchildren; great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
