U.S.Flag Graveside services for Weldon Garner Williams, 71, of Ralls were held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 7, 2005 in Ralls Cemetery with Rev. Larry Carson officiating. Burial iwas under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Weldon, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend passed away Friday, March 4, 2005 at the V.A. Medical Center in Amarillo.

He was born May 9, 1933 in Floyd County, Texas to Ernest G. and Ollie Lee (Leonard) Williams. On June 9, 1975 he married Verna Pentico in Clovis, New Mexico. For over 40 years Weldon provided invaluable service to the community of Ralls as a mechanic, well-motor repairman, machinist, welder and builder. Anyone who has driven around the city has surely seen his many fine carports that adorn several homes. He owned and operated Weldon's Garage, a fixture of the Ralls' town square for many years. Weldon was always generous with his time and fair with his price. Most of all, Weldon dearly loved his family. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict stationed aboard the USS Forrestal. He was a Baptist and moved to Ralls in 1961 from Lubbock.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Stephany Williams; 3 brothers; E. G. Williams, Leonard Williams and Glen Williams and by 2 sisters; Mary Rivers and Annie Williams.

He is survived by his loving wife, Verna of Ralls, 3 sons and their wives; Jay and Sue Williams of Carrollton, Butch and Cindy Fair of New Deal, and Alton and Amy Adkins of Ft. Worth, 3 daughters; Ollie "Tinker" Ellison and her husband Gary of Lubbock, Belinda Rendon and her husband Raymond of Ralls and Terri Abell of Lewisville. Also surviving are 4 sisters; Ollie Srader of Petersburg, Bertha Immel of Burbank, CA., Dovie Stephens of Weatherford, Tx and Faye Taylor of Lubbock, and by 16 grandchildren; LaTasha, LaTrisha, Amanda, Chris, James, Kevin, Tiffany, Craig, Steven, Bethany, Benjamin, Jacob, Ben, Patrick, Jaime, and Marylou, and by 8 great grandchildren; Tyler, Alexia, Stephanie, Trey, Kiersten, and Garett, Mollie and Christopher.

Casket bearers will be James Fair, Craig Rendon, Kevin Williams and Chris Ellison with his nephews serving as honorary casket bearers.
