GERTRUDE BRYAN is the daughter of Jonathan Tate BRYAN and Ann Eliza (Bennett) BRYAN. Gertrude was born in September, 1881 in Texas. On August 4, 1902, Gertrude Bryan married James R. WILLARD (born 1878 in South Carolina) in Lamar County, Texas. James and Gertrude WILLARD were the parents of at least four daughters:Ethel M. Willard, b. 1906, Oklahoma Vera E. Willard, b. 1908, Oklahoma Lola I. Willard, b. 1911, Texas Leota H. Willard, b. 1920, TexasIn 1920, James and Gertrude Willard were living in Crosby County, Texas. Gertrude (Bryan) Willard was buried in Ralls, Texas.

J.R. Willard To Be Buried Here This Afternoon
Funeral services will be held at Ralls Church of Christ this afternoon at 3 o'clock for J.R. Willard, 71, who passed away yesterday at 7:30 a.m. in St. Mary's hospital, Lubbock.Willard became ill Sunday. He remained in a critical condition at the hospital until his passing.
Elder Charles W. Watkins of Lubbock will officiate, assisted by Elder H. Hall of Ralls at the services this afternoon. Burial will be in the Ralls cemetery with Marr funeral home directing.
The deceased was born in Lawrenceville, South Carolina, May 5, 1878. He moved to Texas as a young man and was married to Miss Gertrude Bryan Aug. 3, 1902 at Paris, Tex. The family moved to Ralls from Abilene in 1916, where he has since resided on a farm south of town in the League Four community. He served as a member of the school board there for several years.
He has been active in the Church of Christ since 1910 and still held services at League 4.
Survivors include his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Marie Berry and Mrs. Cleota Moore, both of Ralls; Mrs. Irene Sherrod of Lubbock and Mrs. Vera Kreimer of Glendale, Calif.; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild, Karan Tolbert; two brothers, Willie Willard and Duncan Willard both of Nashville, Ark.
Active pallbearers are Gene Bryan of Tulia, Sam T. Bryan of Tulia, Melvin Simmons of Olton, John Justice, Clyde Sessom, Jesse Hall, Robert Hall and Alvie Lindley.
Honorary pallbearers, Randall Morton, Elvin Evatt, Clarence Verett, James Ed Williams.
