Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 11, at the First Baptist Church in Ralls for Mrs. Dora C. Wideman, 84, who died June 7 in Apple Valley, Calif. following a three-week illness.
Mrs. Wideman suffered a broken hip while visiting a daughter, Mrs. W.H. Schonert in Lucerne Valley, Calif.
Service, under direction of Carter Funeral Home, were conducted by Mr. C.M. Fields, pastor, First Baptist Church, Ralls, and assisted by Mr. W.L. Bolinger, Hereford.
She was the wife of the late Minor Wideman to whom she was married Sept. 5, 1894 in Lamar Co. They were a pioneer family of the South Plains, coming to Ralls from Lamar County, near Paris, in 1919. They couple resided in the Cone community until they moved to Ralls in 1926 when Wideman retired from farming.
She was a life long member of the Baptist Church, and Sunday School teacher of the First Baptist Church at Ralls from 1927 until failing health limited her activities in recent years.
Survivors include three sons, M.J. Ralls; J.L. (Bill), Paris; and T.C., Lubbock; two daughters, Mrs. W.H. Schonert, Lucerne Valley, Calif., and Mrs. R.L. Heflin, Sherman; one sister, Mrs. C.M. Wartes, Lipan, Tex., 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Dora C Diggs was born on July 29, 1877, in Texas. She had three sons and five daughters with Miner Wideman between 1895 and 1917. She died on June 7, 1962, in California, at the age of 84. When Miner Wideman was born on July 11, 1867, in Lamar County, Texas, his father, Solomon Wideman, was 42 and his mother, Rebecca Walker, was 37. He died on April 19, 1948, in Ralls, Texas, at the age of 80.
