Father of L.A. Wicks Dies Here On Sunday

Citizens of Ralls were shocked with the news of the death of E.P. Wicks, father of Lloyd A. Wicks, prominent attorney of this city and the South Plains. Mr. Wick's death was caused from a stroke of paralysis and passed away at his home at 9:45 o'clock Sunday evening, May 5.

At the time of his death he had reached the ripe age of 76 years, 11 months and 17 days, having been born on May 22, 1852, at Princeton, Illinois.

Until moving to Ralls some four years ago the deceased had been actively engaged in contracting business at Gaylor, Michigan, where he had made his home for more than 34 years. Mr. Wicks and his wife who survive him, were married in 1874, having been united for fifty-five years.

Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the home under the direction of the local Masonic order, of which organization the deceased had been a member for some fity-five years, retaining his membership in the Gaylord, Michigan, order, being the oldest member of that chapter. Interment was made in the Ralls Cemetery.

Aside from his wife the deceased is survived by an only son, Lloyd A. Wicks and his family.
