Services for Wilma Spikes Wheeler, 88, of Ralls were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, 1998 at Ralls First Baptist Church with Gary Hubbard, pastor of Ralls First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial was in the Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ralls.

She died Monday, Oct. 5, 1998 at Crosbyton Clinic Hospital.

She was born Oct. 3, 1910 in Cone, TX.

She married Paul Wheeler on Dec. 27, 1937 in Floydada, TX.

She had been a member of the Cone Baptist Church. She was a former member of the Lubbock Arts & Garden Club. She was a member of the D.A.R. She had Masters Degree in Home Economics from Texas Tech. She was appointed Postmaster at Cone in 1951.

She was preceeded in death by a brother, Dr. W.L. Spikes.

Survivors include: her husband, Paul Wheeler of Ralls; two sons, Joe Ellis Wheeler, M.D. of Ft. Worth and Billy Lowell Wheeler of Franklin, LA; a twin sister, Wilda Laminack of Ralls; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
