Obituary

RALLS (Special) — William Milton Wells, a resident of the Ralls area since 1926, died Monday morning in Crosbyton Hospital after a long illness.

Services will be in the Ralls First Baptist Church at 2 p.m. today. The Rev. Floyd Haddock, pastor, and the Rev. H.B. Coggin, pastor of the First United Methodist Church here, will officiate. Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery, directed by Carter Funeral Home.

Wells is survived by his wife, Laura; a son, W.M. Jr. of Rock Springs; two daughters, Mrs. Opal Sawyer of Cone and Mrs. Daisy Hefley of Albuquerque; a brother, Gid of Morton; four sisters, Mrs. Asenith Morris of Dallas, and Mrs. Ethel Robbinson of Sherman, Mrs. Alice Schamacher of Wagner, Okla., and Mrs. Lee Gaddy of Midland; 14 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Graveside services for Laura Wells Carter, 91, of Ralls were held at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 1986 in the Ralls Cemetery with elder Joe Jackson officiating.

Burial was under the direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

She died at midnight Thursday, June 26, 1986 in The Oaks Nursing Home in Burnet after a lengthy illness.

She was born Oct. 2, 1894 in Tarrant County and had lived in Crosby County for 61 years. She married William Milton Wells on April 20, 1925 in Seymour. He preceded her in death Feb. 16, 1970. She then married Joseph Carter Feb. 2, 1973 in Crosbyton. He preceded her in death April 4, 1979. She was a former school teacher and a member of the Baptist church.

One daughter, Opal Sawyer preceded her in death Feb. 25, 1985.

Survivors include a son, Walter Wells of Burnet; a daughter, Daisy Austin of Albuquerque, N.M.; a brother, Oscar Wolfe of Midlothian; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
