Dewey Wells

Funeral services for Dewey E. Wells Sr., 79, of Ralls were held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in First Baptist Church.

The Rev. Floyd Haddock, pastor, officiated, assisted by Evangelist E.C. Chron of Carrollton.

Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

Wells died at 2 p.m. Friday in Lubbock's Methodist Hospital.

The Lamar County native moved to Ralls in 1927 from Kansas City, Mo. He was a retired farmer.

He married Betty Mae Chron in Paris on June 24, 1924. She died July 9, 1977.

Survivors include two sons, Dewey E. Jr. and Elmer S., both of Ralls; a brother, R.H. of Lake Graham; three sisters, Mrs. Mae Allen of Jacksboro, Mrs. Lillie Belle Matthews of Kilgore and Mrs. Minnie Kennimer of Paris; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
