Graveside services for Norris Richburg Watkins, 74, of Ralls were held at 10 a.m. Friday, September 1, 1995, in the Ralls Cemetery with Rev. Jim Morrow, pastor of the Ralls First Baptist Church, officiating.Burial was under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
Mr. Watkins passed away at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, August 29, 1995, in the Ralls Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
He was born Dec. 24, 1920, in Houston. He was a school teacher, having taught school in El Paso, Welch, Abilene, and was also a former principal at Dickens School. He was a member of the Ralls First Baptist Church and was a former Baptist minister. He had been a carpenter and paint contractor. He moved to Ralls in July of 1994 from El Paso.
Survivors include four sons, John Watkins of El Paso and Paul Watkins, Sam Watkins and Carl Watkins all of Ralls; two daughters, Jean Daniell of El Paso and Sarah Strain of Paris, TX; one sister, Ruth Watkins of Midland; 15 grandchildren;and 17 great grandchildren.
