Funeral services for William Donnell Watkins, 36, a resident of the Ralls community since 1960 were held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Ralls First United Methodist Church with the pastor of the Rev. Dick Richards officiating; assisted by the Rev. Vernon O'Kelly, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Panhandle.

Watkins died at 1:15 a.m. Thursday of injuries he received about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in a two vehicle accident one mile west of Lorenzo on U.S. Highways 82 and 62.

Burial was in the Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.

Born in Lubbock, he moved to Ralls in 1962. He married Carolyn Freeman, Nov. 23, 1961 in Abilene. He was a member of the Ralls City Council for about ten years, retiring only in April of this year. He was a member of a number of Magicians clubs, and of the Ralls First United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, three daughters, Wendy, Lezlie and Dawn, all of the home, his parents Mr. and Mrs. W.D. Watkins of Scottsdale, Ariz., and a sister Mrs. Sue Watkins Grosly of Altamonte Springs, Fla.
