Smyer Thomas Vaughan, son of Thomas Edgar Vaughan and Birtie Mae Smyer, was born July 18, 1910 in Whitener, Madison County, Arkansas and died November 3, 1984 in Snyder, Texas. He was buried in Ralls Cemetery on November 5, 1984. He married Mary Catherine Cleveland Denniston on August 10, 1965 in Clovis, Curry County, New Mexico. She was born December 6, 1919 in Rotan, Fisher County, Texas.

Obituary

RALLS (Special) - Services for Smyer Vaughan, 74, of Snyder will be at 2 p.m. today at Emma Church of Christ with Loy Hardesty, minister, and the Rev. Miller Robinson, pastor of Colonial Baptist Church in Snyder, officiating.

Burial will be in Ralls cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

Vaughan died Saturday afternoon in Cogdell Memorial Hospital in Snyder after a brief illness.

He was born in Whitner, Ark. He married Mary Cleveland July 1, 1964, in Clovis, NM. He was a retired employee of Kerr Construction of Lubbock.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Francis Ruark of Rotan, Virginia Fogle and Marlene Beets, both of Snyder, and Marie Vaughan of Andrews; two brothers, Guy of Ralls and Clarence of Andrews; a sister, Jewel Crowley of Booneville, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.
