U.S.Flag  James Vaughn James Clarence "Sonny" or "Sach" Vaughan, Sr., 70, of Buffalo Springs Lake, passed away Monday, March 21, 2011 in Lubbock. Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Ralls Cemetery Chapel.

He was born to the late Clarence and Ada Vaughan, May 14, 1940, in Crosbyton, TX. Jim was a proud Ralls Jackrabbit playing both football and basketball. He married Glenys Bevers in 1961, and they were blessed with a son, James Clarence Vaughan in 1962. In 1968 he married Lois Ann Smith and in 1971, they were blessed with a son, James Scott Vaughan.

Jim served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He moved back to Lubbock and worked for Hancock Mfg. until their closure. In 1986 he and his brother bought Visioneering Inc. and was it's CEO until his retirement in 2009.

Jim is survived by his two sons: Jim and Scott, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, his sister Joyce Ray, and brother Sydney Vaughan.

Jim was widely known as a giving and generous man that believed in the sovereignty of a handshake and the basic goodness of others. He rarely thought of himself, always placing the needs of others before his own. He had the ability to make life-long friends out of short time acquaintances and always carried a presence that attracted people to him.

He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
