Willard was born on December 25, 1925 to Roscoe (Rock) Tolbert and Marie (Willard) Tolbert. He graduated from Ralls High School and attended Texas Tech for three and a half years. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

Willard married Deedie Berry December 20, 1947 in Lubbock, Texas. He was a farmer, before retiring in 1990. He loved gardening, golfing, friends and spending time with family.

Willard is survived by his wife, Deedie; two daughters, Karen and husband Stan Solomon of Hereford, Stacy and husband Mike Engle of Tahoka; a son, Tony Tolbert and his wife Melinda of Crosbyton; a brother, LaWayne Tolbert and wife Sue of Amarillo; six grandchildren, Melissa Whitley, Cory Engle, Kelly Fillingim, Rebecca Widener, Amy Mouser, Dustin Tolbert; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Our deepest gratitude is extended to the doctors, nurses and staff at Lynn County Hospital and Carillon House who so lovingly cared for him.

Memorials may be made to Lynn County Hospital, P.O. Box 1310 Tahoka, Texas 79373.
