Martha Alma (Morris) Thompson, 98, of Lubbock, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2016. She was born June 16, 1918 in Seneca, New Mexico to Nathan and Ossie (Bridwell) Morris. Martha graduated from Spur High School in 1935 and later attended Texas Tech University for two years, with home economics as her major. She was a self-employed beautician and also worked as a sales representative for many years. Martha greatly enjoyed reading, oil painting and writing poetry.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents; Nathan and Ossie Morris; her sister; Jewel; and her brother Nathan Coy.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter; Joyce Ann Lorah of Visalia, California; her two sons; Morris Thompson of Lubbock; and Richard Coy Thompson; three grandchildren; Michael Lorah; Michelle Lorah; and Andrea Varner; and three great-grandchildren; Nathan Varner; Jacob Varner; and Austin Lorah.
Graveside services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, September 27, at the Ralls Cemetery, under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
