O. C. Thomas

RALLS (Special) - Services for O.C. Thomas, 87, of Ralls will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Emma Church of Christ with Dennis May, minister, officiating.

Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

Thomas died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Millsap and moved to Ralls in 1943 from Dickens County. He married Opal Thomas on July 3, 1935, in Austin. He graduated from North Texas Teachers College in 1926 and taught in Post, Crosbyton, and Spur. He was principal at Spur High School from 1927-30 and superintendent of Spur schools from 1935-43. He served as superintendent of Ralls schools from 1943-46 and was postmaster in Ralls from 1953-1972. He was active in the Rotary Club and Boy Scouts, serving as Boy Scouts District Commissioner of Comanche Trail District from 1955-56. He was a Mason.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jim of Houston; a daughter, Francene Ferrel of Estelline; and four grandchildren.
