Graveside Services for R. B. Terrell, 86, of Lubbock will be at 11:00 AM, July 28, 2004 at the Ralls Cemetery with Jim Fullingim officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
He died Monday, July 26, 2004 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born July 10, 1918 in Crosby County to Roy J. and Mabel Martha Robertson Terrell. On September 17, 1939 he married Nellie Ruth Cogburn in Weatherford.
He was a charter member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Lubbock, a member of the Ralls First United Methodist Church and the South Plains Christian Fellowship.
He farmed in Crosby County and operated Savage Gin, Terrell Gin and Farmer Cotton Gin for several years. He was a charter member of Independent Cotton ginners and owner and operator of Mid-Tex Petroleum. He worked in Commercial Real Estate in Lubbock. He was honored as Ralls Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year in 1967. The town of Terrell was named for his grandfather and the old family home is in the Texas Historical Registry. He had lived in Savage and Ralls before moving to Lubbock where he lived for the past 27 years.
He is preceded in death by two sons: Dick Loren Terrell who died on July 12, 1970 and David Lee Terrell who died on August 18, 1997.
Survivors include, his wife; Nellie of Lubbock, a daughter Jackie Stults of Abilene three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Memorial services for Nellie Ruth Terrell, 88, of Tulsa, OK and formerly Lubbock will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 28, 2009 in the Ralls Cemetery Chapel with Jim Fullingim officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
Nellie Ruth passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 in Tulsa, OK. She was born December 28, 1920 in Weatherford, Texas to the late Fitzhugh Lee and Bessie Thurzia (Lindsay) Cogburn. On September 16, 1939, she married R. B. Terrell in Weatherford. He preceded her in death on July 25, 2004.
Nellie Ruth was a homemaker who volunteered at St. Mary's Hospital in Lubbock for many years. She moved to Lubbock in 1977 from Ralls and had lived in the Savage community. She is preceded in death by two sons, Dick Loren Terrell on July 12, 1970 and David Lee Terrell on August 18, 1997, and a brother, Elzie Lee Cogburn. Survivors include a daughter, Jackie Stults of Abilene; three grandchildren, Trae Diede of Costa Mesa, CA, and Tim Terrell and Trinity Rutledge both of Tulsa, OK; and eight great-grandchildren, Jack, Zoe, Kira, Chase, Brody, Wyatt, Gwen, and Beau.
