Eula Elvie Smyer, daugher of James Sidney Smyer and Dovie Isabell Whitener, was born April 22, 1898 in Whitener, Madison County, Arkansas, and died September 08, 1971 in Crosbyton, Crosby Co, TX. She married Leroy Witt Taylor, Sr. April 23, 1916 in Ralls, Crosby County, TX, son of John Taylor and Mary Witt. He was born April 12, 1897 in Ralls, Crosby Co., TX and died September 09, 1971 in Lorenzo, Crosby Co., TX.

Leroy Taylor

Services for Leroy Witt Taylor, 74, a resident of this area almost 70 years, were at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Lorenzo Church of Christ with Sterling Walker and Henry Lynch, Church of Christ ministers, officiating.

Burial was in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter Funeral Home of Ralls.

Taylor died about 1:15 p.m. Thursday after he suffered a heartattack driving to his home outside Lorenzo.

He was born in Mills County and moved to the Lorenzo area from San Saba.

He is survived by his wife, Eula; a son, John of Lubbock; a daughter, Mrs. Mack Holcombe of Lorenzo; a sister, Mrs. Vera Mumford of Tyler; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Eula Taylor

LORENZO (Special) - Services for Mrs. Eula Elvie Taylor, 77, of Lorenzo, will be at 4 p.m. today in the Lorenzo Church of Christ with Tommy Johnston, assisted by Joe Johnston, officiating.

Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter Funeral Home of Ralls. The body will remain at the funeral home until 2 p.m.

Mrs. Taylor died at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Ralls Nursing Home.

A native of Whitener, Ark., she had been a resident of Crosby County for almost 74 years. She married Leroy Witt Taylor in Emma April 23, 1916. He died in 1971.

Survivors include a son, John O. of Lubbock; a daughter, Mrs. Mack Holcombe of Lorenzo; two sisters,Mrs. Grace Adams of Lubbock and Mrs. Bertie Vaughan of Ralls; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
