Obituary

RALLS (Special) — Mrs. Elizabeth Surratt, a resident of the Ralls area since 1929, died at 7 a.m. Monday at West Texas Hospital in Lubbock.

Services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Ralls First Baptist Church with the Rev. C. M. Fields officiating. Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter Funeral Home of Ralls.

Mrs. Surratt and her husband celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary April 19.

She is survived by her husband, Luther; five sons, R.T. and Homer of Hobbs, NM, Guy, Ralls, Joe, Odessa, and Travis, Kansas City, KS; two daughters, Mrs. Walter Parrish and Mrs. Willie Pierce, both of Commerce, TX; a brother, Jim Brister, Hamlin; four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Billberry, Petersburg, Mrs. Fannie Jorden, CA, Mrs. Carrie McCorley, San Angelo, and Mrs. Era Havens, Hamlin; 26 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.

Services for Luther P. Surratt, 88, of Ralls will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Ralls First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Cain, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter Funeral home here.

Surratt died about 3 a.m. Thursday in Crosbyton Hospital.

A native of Meridian, Miss., Surratt had lived in Ralls since 1929, moving from Fannin County.

He was a retired farmer.

Survivors include five sons, R.T. of Hobbs, NM, Homer P. and Guy both of Ralls, and Joe L. and Travis, both of Odessa; two daughters, Mrs. Walter Parrish and Mrs. Willie Pierce, both of Commerce; a brother, Buford of Olney; 26 grandchildren; and 43 great grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.
