Laura Stuart, one of Crosby County's oldest citizens, was claimed by death at 3 p.m. Saturday in Highland Hospital, Lubbock, following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Stuart, a Ralls resident, was 98.

Memorial services were at 10 a.m. Monday at the Southside Baptist Church in Lubbock with the Rev. Glenn Price officiating, interment was made in Ralls Cemetery.

Born in Banks County, GA., she was married to George Milton Stuart in 1906 in Cass County. The couple moved to this county in 1951 from Happy.

Mr. Stuart preceded his wife in death in 1967.

Survivors include one son, Royden Stuart of Bremeton, Wash.; two daughters, Chesley Dozier of Ralls and Mrs. L.B. Parson of Lubbock; two sisters; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
