James Benjamin Stotts U.S.Flag Graveside services for J.B. Stotts, 82, of Ralls will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 22, 2004 in the Ralls Cemetery with Rev. Ken Bevel officiating. Burial is under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Mr. Stotts passed away Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at Lubbock's Covenant Medical Center. He was born Jan. 31, 1922, in Denton County to Joseph Lee and Lydia Frances (Price) Stotts. On January 31, 1945 he married Odessa Smith. He moved to Ralls in 1947 from Lamesa, Texas.

J.B. was a member of Ralls First Baptist Church. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad in the Western Union Telegraph department for 36 years from 1946 to 1985. He then worked as a bookkeeper for 10 years at Caprock Gin. A retired paramedic, he was a charter member of Ralls EMS and a 20-year member of the Ralls Volunteer Fire Department.

He was a veteran of WWII, serving as a Staff Sergeant in the Army.

Survivors include his wife, Odessa of Ralls; a son, James "Beecher" Stotts of Ralls; a daughter, Denise Stegma of Lubbock; a sister, Doris Jean Tulk of Duncanville; 4 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Casket bearers will be L.T. Starkey, Regan Ware, H.W. Mullins, Wayne Lee Sanders, Paul DeGan, Forrest Vernon, John Spivey and James Caddell.

The family suggests memorials to Ralls EMS or Ralls Volunteer Fire Dept., 801 Ave. I, Ralls, TX 79357.
