Services for George C. "Bud" Stephens, 84, of Ralls were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, 1987 in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Fuller, pastor, and the Rev. John Goss, a retired Baptist minister, and the Rev. Jerry Golden, pastor of First Baptist Church in Lorenzo, officiating.Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.
He died at 12:25 a.m. Sunday, January 18, 1987 in Crosbyton Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Bogota and moved to Crosby County in 1921. He married Lenore Haverstock on July 20, 1951, in Lubbock. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was retired from the Texas Highway Department. He was secretary of the Masonic Lodge for 21 years. He was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Masonic Lodge No. 931 and First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Larita Conrad of San Antonio; and two grandsons.

Lenore Stephens, 93, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 5, 2012, in Fort Worth, Texas. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 8, 2012, in the Ralls Cemetery with Rev. T.J. Messer officiating.
Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday at the Ralls Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the personal care of Adams Funeral Home ~ Ralls.
Lenore was born in Concordia, Kansas to Ida and Guy Haverstock on May 19, 1918. She married Bud Stephens on July 20 1951, in Lubbock; he preceded her in death on January 18, 1987. They made their home in Ralls where she taught piano and played organ for the First Baptist Church. In 2000 Lenore moved to Fort Worth. There she was a member of Birchman Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bud, and her grandson, Shane Williams.
She is survived by her daughter, Larita Conrad of San Antonio, Texas, grandson Nick Conrad of Chicago, Illinois, two brothers, Guy Haverstock and wife Gwen of Fort Worth, Texas and Roy Armstrong and wife Dorothy of Fort Stockton, Texas and two nieces, Ruth Ann Bridges of Lubbock, Texas and Linda Lawrence of Fort Worth, Texas.
