A lengthy illness terminated in death for Naomi Stark at 1:40 a.m. Sunday in Methodist Hospital in Lubbock. Mrs. Stark, 74, had been in the intensive care unit of the hospital for over a month.

She and her husband resided at 321 South Ayrshire in Crosbyton.

Graveside services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Ralls Cemetery. The Rev. Lee Fuller, pastor of First Baptist Church in Ralls, officiated.

Nephews were pallbearers.

Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton directed arrangements.

A longtime Crosby County resident, Mrs. Stark was a member of First Baptist Church.

The former Naomi Stapleton was born Sept. 28, 1907, in Greenville, TX. She was married to R.C. Stark on Sept. 21, 1924, in Hamlin.

A housewife, Mrs. Stark had been a PBX operator in Denver.

Survivors include her husband, R.C. Stark; one son, Reno C. Stark Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska; four brothers, Shelby Stapleton, Odell Stapleton and Howard Stapleton, all of Plainview, and Bynum Stapleton of Petersburg; three sisters, Jewette Dean of Lubbock, Beatric Huling of Hamlin and Eula Bell Borden of El Paso; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

A daughter, Billie Frances Scardino, preceded her mother in death.
