Tom Starch Dies Of Heart Ailment Monday, Oct. 31

Tom Starch, 67, a resident of Ralls for 32 years, passed away at 2:45 p.m., Monday in Spikes hospital following an illness with a heart ailment for the past year. He had been confined to his bed two weeks.

Coming here from LaCrosse, Wis., Starch had been engaged in farming and blacksmith work, having a large shop here at the time of his passing.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Tuesday at Ralls Methodist church with the pastor, Rev. W.R. Beaird, officiating. He had been a member of the local church since 1920.

The choir sang, "Since Jesus Came Into My Heart" and "Rock of Ages." Mrs. Earl Tinning sang, "When They Ring Those Golden Bells." Mrs. Billy Mayes played organ music.

Survivors include his wife; his mother, Mrs. Mary Starch, 87, of Stoddard, Wis.; a brother, Emmett Starch of El Paso; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Poudler of La Crosse, Wis., and Mrs. Katie Richard of La Farge, Wis.; three sons, Clarence, William and Wesley Starch of Ralls, a daughter, Mrs. Mable Moe of Stoddard, Wis.; and 11 grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Ira Prewitt, T.H. Holmes, W.W. Gleaton, John Sanders, Dewey Criswell, Marvin Greer, A.L. Winfrey and G.O. Poudler of Crosbyton.

Out of town relatives and friends attending included Mrs. Mary Starch, Mrs. Mable Moe and son, Harold, Mrs. Mary Poudler, Elaine Poudler, Melvin Poudler and Mrs. Katie Richard, all of Wisconsin, Emmitt Starch of El Paso; Mrs. Mary Patton, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Thornton, Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Robbs, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Patton and Monte, Mrs. Thelma Aycock, Mack Austin, Mrs. Homer Wright, Mrs. H.E. Gale, Jake Ligon, Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Ragle, all of Lubbock.

Alvie Patton of Sudan; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Brown and Carolyn Ann of Hobbs, NM; Pat Dixon of Levelland; G.O. Poudler, Lewis Chance, Mrs. Joe Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Don Moses, all of Crosbyton.
