Ira Stanley Funeral In Ralls Today

Funeral rites for Ira Benton Stanley, a former Ralls resident, will be held today at 2:00 p.m. at the Ralls First Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Floyd Haddock, pastor, and Rev. John Jenkins, pastor of Lockney First Baptist Church. Stanley died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday in Lubbock's Methodist Hospital, following a brief illness. He moved to Lorenzo in 1944 from Jones County. A former Abernathy resident he moved to Lubbock two years ago, where he had resided.

A native of Aspermont, he was a retired bookkeeper. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Southcrest Baptist Church and of the Lorenzo Masonic Lodge.

Interment wil be in the Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be: Garland Jones, Charles Gray, R.B. Terrell, Earl Abell, Ray Marsh, and Delton Caddell.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; two sons, Bob and Bill, both of Lubbock; a daughter, Mrs. Patricial Eliff of Hewitt; his mother, Mrs. B.W. Stanley of Lorenzo; a sister Mrs. Margie Fleming of Idalou; and two grandchildren.
