Biography

Guy Sidney Smyer, son of James Sidney Smyer and Dovie Isabell Whitener, was born April 01, 1887 in Whitener, Madison County, Arkansas, and died September 07, 1970 in Muleshoe, Bailey County, Texas. He married Retta Fulkerson November 06, 1910 in Lubbock, Lubbock County, TX. She was born April 16, 1893.

Children of Guy Smyer and Retta Fulkerson are:

Obituary

Retta Smyer

Graveside services for Retta Smyer, 96, of Lubbock will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 10, 1989 in Ralls Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Green, retired Baptist minister, officiating.

Burial will be under direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Mrs. Smyer died at 12:22 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 1989 in South Park Medical Center after an illness.

She was born in Carthage, MO, and moved from Arkansas to Lorenzo in 1910. She moved to Lubbock in 1970. She married Guy Sidney Smyer on Nov. 6, 1910, in Lorenzo. He died in 1970. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include a son, Albert of Muleshoe; a daughter, Pauline Cash of Lubbock; a sister, Elsa Mayfield of Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a great great grandchild.
