Services for Louise Smith, 75, of Ralls were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, 1998 at Ralls Emma Church of Christ with the Rev. Ken Free officiating.

Burial was in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

She died Monday, Oct. 5, 1998 at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock.

She was born March 20, 1923 in Owens Community, Crosby County.

She married C.R. Smith, Jr. on Oct. 4, 1941 in Lubbock, TX. He died on June 7, 1994.

She was a member of Emma Church of Christ. She had been active in Girl Scouts where she served as chairman of District IV Caprock Girl Scout Council Delegate to Area Convention in El Paso and to National Convention in Detroit, MI. She received the highest award given to volunteer workers in Crosby County, the Thank Badge. She also received the Silver Spur Pin for her work with the 4-H. She was a homemaker and lived in the Ralls area all of her life.

Survivors include; one son, Mike Smith of Memphis, TN; one daughter, Joe Linda Bishop, of Palestine, TX; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
