Mrs. Vinnie Jane Shook, 92, who moved to Crosby County in 1917, was claimed by death about 9 p.m. Friday in Parkway Manor Nursing Home in Lubbock.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Ralls First Baptist Church. Interment was in Ralls Cemetery.

A Missouri native, the former Vinnie Jane Newton came to Texas as a child and resided in Clay County until moving to this county in 1917. She and William Robert Shook were married in Clay County in 1905.

Surviving are four sons, H.N. Wright of Lubbock, Willard Wright of Hale Center, Leonard Shook of Houston and Ray Shook of Dallas; five daughters, Mrs. Georgia Hoople and Mrs. Lena Green, both of Lorenzo, Mrs. Ottie Dueitt of Midland, Mrs. Glenn White of Floydada and Mrs. Orville King of Ralls; two brothers, Virgil Newton of Petersburg and John Newton of Floydada; 19 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.
