Graveside services for Mrs. Katy Payne Shirley, 82, of Carlsbad, NM were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Ralls Cemetery with Perry Denton of Denton Funeral Home in Carlsbad, NM officiating.
Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter Funeral Home.
Mrs. Shirley died Sunday at her home at Carlsbad, NM, after a lengthy illness.
Survivors include a daughter, Estelle Hunt of Carlsbad, a brother, Paul L. Payne of Lubbock; and a sister, Estelle Stipp of Ramona, Calif.

When Mahalia Catherine 'Katy' Payne was born on October 26, 1894, her father, Stephen Upson Payne, was 46 and her mother, Francis Evaline Aderhold, was 39. She had seven brothers and three sisters. She died on June 28, 1977, in Ralls, Texas, at the age of 82. She was married to Rex Shirley.
