Funeral services for Bessie Mae Shelby, 83, of Ralls were at 2 p.m. Monday at the Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. Bennie Anderson officiating.

Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

Mrs. Shelby died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Health Sciences Center Hospital in Lubbock after a long illness.

She was born in Tyler and married Cecil Shelby in Hillsboro in 1929.

Survivors include her husband; her foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Laure Dade of Floydada; five sons, Robert and Isiah, both of Ralls, Curly J. of Okmulgee, Okla., Edward Lee of Fayetteville, NC, and Pat of Lubbock; four sisters, Mrs. Clarence Price, Mary McCauley, Larissia Williams and Ollie Jett, all of Tyler; two brothers, Arthur Williams and Gusta Lee, both of Tyler; and four grandchildren.
