Services for Vera Ruth Sechrist, 70, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 1987 in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Vernon O'Kelly, pastor of Dimmitt's First United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Howard Marcom, a retired Methodist minister from Levelland officiating.

Burial was in the Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

She died at 12:02 a.m. Thursday in Crosbyton Clinic after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Hill County and moved to the South Plains in 1917. She moved to the Ralls area in 1933. She married Guy Alton Sechrist on January 24, 1937 in Lorenzo. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Charles A. of Ralls; two daughters, Frances Davis and Martha Wilmeth, both of Ralls; two sisters, Alice Marie Sechrist of Lockney and Avah Nell Courtney of Lubbock; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
