RALLS (Special) — Services for Ruby Pearl Roye, 75, of Ralls were held at 2 p.m. Saturday August 16, 1997, in the Ralls First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Morrow, pastor, and the Rev. Floyd Haddock, a retired Baptist minister of Lubbock, officiating.

Burial followed in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Mrs. Roye at 6:50 a.m. died Thursday, Aug. 14, 1997, at her residence following an illness.

She was born Oct. 28, 1921, in McKinney, TX. She married Vernon Roye on Dec. 31, 1938, in Floydada, TX. She had lived in Ralls most of her life, moving there at the age of 4. She was a member of Ralls First Baptist Church and the Homemaker Sunday School Class. She was named Woman of the Year in 1984 by the Ralls Chamber of Commerce and Volunteer of the Year in 1989 by Ralls Nursing Home. She and her husband were named Mr. and Mrs. Cotton Boll in 1996 by the Ralls Chambers of Commerce.

Survivors include her husband, Vernon Roye of Ralls; two daughters, Ann Roberts of El Toro, Calif., and Sue Harris of Ralls; two brothers, Billy Bob of Ralls and Jerry of LaFeria; three sisters, Nell McCarrick of Grand Rapids, Mich., Jean Warren of Canton, and Viola Hooker of Wyoming, Mich.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Crosby County Cancer Society, Drawer AA, Ralls 79357, or to the Ralls Ambulance Service, 800 Ave. I, Ralls 79357.

Vernon RoyeServices for Vernon Olney Roye, 84, of Ralls were held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 14, 2006 in the Ralls First Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Bevel officiating. Burial followed in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home. Vernon passed away Thursday, October 12, 2006 at the Ralls Nursing Home. He was born February 16, 1922 in Coryell County, Texas to the late William O. and Ora (Reese) Roye. On December 31, 1938 he married Ruby Pearl Wright in Floydada. She preceded him in death August 14, 1997.

A farmer, he moved from Post to Ralls in 1936. He was a member of the Ralls First Baptist Church, the Emma Masonic Lodge #931 and served on the Ralls Coop Gin Board. He and his late wife Ruby were honored in 1996 as Mr. and Mrs. Cotton Boll in Ralls.

Vernon is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Ann and Jerry Roberts of Meeker, Okla. and Sue and Bobby Harris of Ralls, 5 grandchildren; Debbie Sullivan and Chad Harris, both of Ralls, Brad Harris of Plano, Trevor Roberts of Corona, Calif. and Tracy Roberts of Mission Viejo, Calif., 8 great grandchildren, Dayan Davis, Dezni Davis, Hayden Harris, Kara Harris, Logan Roberts, Daniel Roberts, Samantha Roberts and Stefany Roberts and by a great great granddaughter, Ariah Rubianne.

The family suggest memorials to the Ralls Ambulance Service 800 Ave. I Ralls, Texas 79357 or to a favorite charity.

Serving as pallbearers will be; Brad Harris, Chad Harris, Hayden Harris, Dayan Davis, Dezni Davis, Trevor Roberts and Tracy Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be; Bart Roye, Barron Roye, David Chester, Scott Wright and Bito Irie.
