Obituary

RALLS Services for Charles H. "C.H." Rowden, 83, of Ralls will be at 4:30 p.m. Monday at Ralls First Baptist Church with the Rev. Floyd Haddock officiating and the Rev. Ted Frost assisting.

Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.

He died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000, at Floydada Rehabilitation and Care Center.

He was born Dec. 20, 1916, in Chico. He married Louise Jones July 9, 1938, in Clovis, N.M.

He was a member of Ralls First Baptist Church and the Ralls Lions Club. He moved to Ralls in 1945 from Lubbock. In 1945, he and his wife bought Ralls Boot and Shoe Repair Shop, which he operated for 30 years. In 1963, they opened the first Western Store in Crosby County, which they operated until they sold it in 1975. He served in the U.S. Army for two and a half years, stationed at Camp Lee, Va. and then worked for the New York postal service.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Linda Boydstun and Wynon Taylor, both of Ralls; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Louise Rowden Louise Rowden, 92, of Ralls passed away peacefully Saturday, August 25, 2012, in Crosbyton, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Ralls with Rev. Floyd Haddock officiating and Rev. T.J. Messer assisting. Burial will be in the Ralls Cemetery under the personal care of Adams Funeral Home ~ Ralls. Visitation will be Monday, August 27, 2012 from 6 - 8 P.M.

Louise was born in Roxton, Texas to Tom and Odie Mae (Johnson) Jones on December 20, 1919. She married Charles "C.H." Rowden in Clovis, NM; Louise and C.H. moved to Ralls in 1945. They purchased the shoe repair business, in 1963 they expanded to Rowden's Western Wear the first western store in Crosby County; they sold the business in 1975. They were in business for 30 years in Ralls. She was a member of the Ralls First Baptist church since 1945 and was very active as a, Sunday school teacher, G.A. leader, bible schoolteacher. Louise had a love for two young boys that were underprivileged. Her Sunday school class made sure that they had Christmas, birthday and furnished tickets and a ride to the Ralls Rodeo every year. She was honored as Ralls Chamber of Commece Citizen through the years. PTA president and was presented a Life Member of Texas Congress of Parrents & Teachers. She gave her time to the Crosby Co. 4-H Club, Ralls Lions Club Rodeo and many other activities within her community.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Odie Mae (Johnson) Jones, her beloved husband, C.H. Rowden and two brothers, Earl and Everett Jones, and one son-in-law Bob Taylor. She is survived by her two daughters, Linda (Jim) Boydstun of Ralls, Wynon Taylor of Ralls, 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
