RALLS (Special) — Funeral services for Ermogenes "John" Rodriguez, 64. of Ralls are slated for 2 p.m. today in St. Michael's Catholic Church here with the Rev. Harold Waldo, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.

Rodriguez died at 7 p.m. Wednesday on the Bobby Harris farm south of Ralls. Justice of the Peace W.E. Easter ruled death due to natural causes.

A native of Travis County, he was married to Josefina Cruz on Oct. 29, 1932, in Litton Springs. They moved from Litton Springs to Ralls in 1955.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Victor and Henry, both of Ralls, Joaquin of Lubbock and Domingo of Pampa; eight daughters, Mrs. Julia Flores, Mrs. Florentina Cavazos, Mrs. Janie Ramerez, Simona, Mary Ann and Beatrice Rodriguez, all of Ralls, Mrs. Apolinar Holmes and Mrs. Mary Almagar, both of Lubbock; two brothers, four sisters, 41 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Josephina Rodriquez Rosary for Josefina Cruz Rodriguez, 90, of Levelland was held Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Head & Duarte Funeral Home in Levelland, Texas. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Levelland with Fr. Reynaldo Reyes and music by Wes Garza and Dilly Garza. Internment was in Ralls Cemetery in Ralls, Texas. Arrangements were under direction of Head & Duarte Funeral Home.

Josefina passed away on Monday, April 28, 2008 in Levelland, Texas.

She was born August 29, 1917 in Cedar Creek, Texas to the late Francisco and Francisca (Rivera) Cruz. She married Ermogenes Rodriguez on October 23, 1932 in Lockhart, Texas. She moved to Ralls, in 1955 from Lockhart, then moved to Levelland in 1985. She was a homemaker and a mother of 12 children. She was a Cursillita and a Guadalupana at St. Michael's Catholic Church of Ralls for several years. Josefina and her husband were the founders of St. Michael's Catholic Church of Ralls during 1955. Her hobbies were embroidery, making quilt toppings, baking cookies of all shapes and sizes and loved painting sun catchers. She loved clipping coupons out of the Sunday paper to give to anyone that could use them. Her favorite singing artist and musician was Ramon Ayala. She was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church of Ralls and Levelland. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family.

Josefina was preceeded in death by her parents, her husband in 1976, and a son, Victor Rodriguez in 2004.

Survivors include: three sons, Joaquin Rodriguez and Henry Rodriguez both of Lubock, and Domingo Rodriguez of Pampa; eight daughters, Julia Flores, Simona Rodriguez and Tina Cavazos all of Ralls, Ana Rodriguez of Slaton, Polly Perez of Lubbock, Janie Ramirez of Odessa, Mary Almager and Beatrice Haynes both of Levelland, 51 grandchildren, and 27 great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Tony Flores, Jr., Richard Rodriguez, Mike Rodriguez, Thomas Rodriguez, Johnny Cavazos, Jr., Jacinto Almager, Jr., Johnny Haynes, Jr. and Zachariah Haynes.
