RALLS (Special) - Services for Thompson Deane Rodgers, 70, of Ralls will be at 4 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Fuller, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter Adams Funeral Home.

He died at 4:25 p.m. Monday in Lubbock's Methodist Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Headrick, Okla., and moved from Mississippi to Ralls in 1984. He graduated from Lubbock High School and received a master's degree from Texas Tech in 1942. He was employed by Amoco Petroleum company for 27 years. He was a certified child care supervisor at the University of North Carolina and earned a certificate of Group Child Care form the University of Texas in 1974.

He was a member of Crosby County Child Welfare Board, Sigma Gamma Epsilon geology fraternity, American Association of Petroleum Geologists and Texas Department of Human Resources. He had been executive director of Baptist Children's Village in Mississippi and interim superintendent of New Mexico Baptist Children's Home in Portales, NM. He was a past president of the Rotary Club and a deacon at First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Fran; a son, Dale of Tulsa, Okla.; a daughter, Becky Comstock of Houston; a sister, Lilah Gaye Gee of Friona; and five grandchildren.
