U.S.Flag   Services for Roberts, 65, of Lorenzo were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 1997, in the Lorenzo First Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Hankson, pastor of the Lorenzo Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and Rev. Leonard Chatham officiating.

Burial followed in the Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.

Mr. Roberts died at 12:31 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 1997, in Lubbock's University Meical Center following an illness.

He was born March 24, 1932, in McCloud, OK, and married Lillian Coleman on May 10, 1952, in Crosbyton, TX. He was a member of Lorenzo's Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, Chairman of the Deacons, Treasurer, teacher and a faithful choir member. He served on the Site Base Committee at the Lorenzo Independent School District. He served in the United States Army from 1952 1955. He moved to the Lorenzo area in 1939 from McCloud, OK.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian Roberts of Lorenzo; five sons, Rev. A. J. Roberts, Jr., of Houston, Bobby Joe Roberts of Lubbock, Rev. Raymond Roberts and Timothy Roberts both of Lorenzo, and Pleze Roberts of Littlefield; five daughters, Eva Mae Roberts of Austin, Evie Jeane Hudson, Pamela Denist Roberts, and Reenea Louise Roberts all of Lorenzo, and Carolyn Ann Hart of Ft. Worth; a brother, A. D. Roberts of Richmond, CA; 17 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Sonny Langston, Tommy Lawson, James Craign, Charles R. Anderson, Mike Gonzales, A.Y. Anderosn, Jerry Byrd, and Ricky Wall.

Honorary pallbearers were Deacons of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
